Answer: You will be paid the same for all dispatched miles, whether empty or loaded. You will receive .90 in revenue plus fuel surcharge on loaded miles and .90 for empty miles after the first 100 miles. All miles are paid based on PC Miler shortest miles.Accessorial such as stop-offs will be paid as follows: - Stop-offs: $50.00
- Load pay: Truck No Use: $100.00
- Unload pay:$20 per hour (must be authorized and pay by customer)
- Detention pay: $35 per hour, after four hours free-time. (Detention will be paid only if SKY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES INC. is compensated by its customer and the owner-operator notifies SKY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES INC. within one hour of arrival at a pick-up or delivery.
- Fuel-surcharge; the owner-operator will receive fuel-surcharge.
Question: Will I be home on weekends? Answer: We do not have forced dispatch. An owner operator is free to accept or reject any load offered to him/her, including work that involves working on weekends. Question: Will I need to have my tractor equipped with a mobile satellite communication system? Answer: YES. SKY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES INC. will install a satellite tracking/communication system in your cab. You must return the communications system in the condition you received it, or you will be charged back accordingly. Owner Operator will be charge $55/hour to de install PeopleNet unit if an Owner Operator is terminated or resigns. In addition, Owner Operator will be charge for any damages/repairs. Question: Does SKY offer a rider program? Answer: No Rider Program Question: Where will I run? Answer: The Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and Texas area primarily. Question: Will I be assigned a dedicated lane? Answer: Sky does not have any dedicated lanes that would meet an OTR or O/O requirements. As we have a large diversified group of customers are lanes vary from week to week. Question: Will SKY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES INC. pays for my cargo coverage and liability insurance? Answer: YES. O/O will be charged $145.00 per week. (There is a deduction forPreventable accidents and freight claims. Our safety department will make theappropriate determination of the charges based on the incident/accident) Question: How much money will I earn? Answer: While no guarantees can be made, our objective is for our owner operators torun approximately 3000 miles per week, on average, conditions permitting, and to earn $.90 CPM + FSC before expenses. This target is subject to weather, business conditions and the driver’s capabilities, amongst other factors. It is a target, not a guarantee. Question: Are there advances? Answer: YES. There is a limit of $100 per week, excluding road repairs, which are restricted to the amount of funds in your escrow account. O/O Operators will also be charged a $2.50 per transaction fee. Question: Will I be assigned a driver manager? Answer: YES. We also provide you with 24 hour dispatch coverage, per day. Weekend coverage is provided via our driver managers. All management team is available via cell-phones. Question: Will I receive a fuel-card? Answer: YES. You will receive a Fleet One Fuel card for use at all Petros and Travel Centers of America. You may buy fuel wherever the card is accepted, but there is no discount from fuel providers other than Petros & TAs. Question; Are tolls reimbursed? Answer: Tolls are not reimbursed. Question: What are the driver requirements? Answer: driver must have at least 2 years OTR driving experience, 10 years of verifiable work history, no more than 3 moving violations, no preventable accidents, no more than 3 equipment violations. Question: What are your tractor requirements? Answer: Tractor must be model 2003 or Newer and be approved by our maintenance department. (A sleeper berth is mandatory). All tractors must be registered to haul a gross weight of 80,000#s. You are required to submit monthly maintenance reports. In addition, your tractor must be certified to be on the road every 30 days. Question: Will I have to file road tax reports? Answer: No. SKY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES INC. will file your road tax reports and charge you back for necessary fuel taxes. Question: Can I purchase parts at a discount? Answer: After you have been leased to SKY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES INC. you are eligible to purchase parts through SKY at a discounted price. Emergency repairs and tires are available at competitive prices, up to the limit of your escrow account. Question: Can I take my truck home? Answer: All leased O/O trucks must be kept at SKY yard unless dispatched on load. Outside O/O may take their tractors home. Question: What are the other reasons I should lease with for SKY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES INC.? Answer: We have referral bonus plan and a $1600.00 safety bonus. When you recommend a driver to SKY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES INC., you will receive up to $600.00 bonus after the driver is leased onto SKY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES INC. for 90 days. We also do a considerable amount of line-haul work for a diversified group of fortune 500 companies, with freight weighing an average of 29000 pounds. O/O will have weekly settlements, along with a number of cost saving programs such as part purchasing program, fuel discounts, and nation wide equipment wash program. Question: Are there any administrative charges for filing my paperwork? Answer: Administrative fees have been waived. Question: What is an escrow?Answer: There will be a $10,000 in house O/O and $700 outside O/O interest bearing escrow account. It will be established via a fixed payment per week deduction from the settlement until the full amount is in escrow. The owner operator will keep all interest earned by the escrow account. In the event of the termination of the lease, settlement will occur within 30 days. Question: Do I need to have my own plates? Answer: Plates are paid up front by Sky Transportation Services Inc. and deducted weekly from settlements.If you have additional questions, we would be delighted to answer them for you.
